A message from Lise Noakes

A little bit of background about me.

I’ve lived with my husband Keith in the Abbeymead part of the Barnwood Ward for over 20 years.  Prior to that I lived in Hucclecote from 1982 having moved from Longlevens where I was brought up.   I only left Gloucester during term time from 1976-80 to get my degree, returning to take up a career in IT where I worked as a Project Manager until July 2017.

The family (my son & daughter and Keith’s two sons) are all grown up and settled with their families.  All were brought up locally and attended local schools.

Since 2004 I have served as a Conservative City Councillor for the Barnwood Ward and from 1990–94 was a City Councillor for Hucclecote.

I was honoured to serve as Mayor of Gloucester from 2005-6 and Sheriff from 20014-15.

I actively support where possible and keep in touch with many organisations locally, I am a trustee of Hucclecote Community Association and am also President of Gloucester District Scouts.

In May 2015 I took on the role of Cabinet Member for Culture & Leisure.  I am the Vice-Chair of the Gloucester Culture Trust – see more detail on the Culture & Leisure page, a trustee of The Gloucester History Trust who arrange the annual History Festival and I am honoured to be a member of the South West Arts Council Board.

I ensure that Barnwood residents are kept up to date with a leaflet or newspaper delivered through the door on average six times a year.  I also receive many calls from residents and over the past years have been pleased to have been able to help a lot of people.   To contact me please ring 610702 or email lise@lisenoakes.org.uk

When I do get spare time I enjoy going to concerts with Keith and to relax I’ve either got knitting, crochet or cross stitch on the go!

Best wishes,
